Course 1: Physiological and performance demands of a soccer match

RESUME

This course contains updated scientific knowledge about the physiological performance determinants, training/match demands, training load and fatigue parameters in soccer.

The course teaches how to evaluate the external workload of a soccer match and its physiological effects on the player, including the temporary and long-term fatigue.

Course 2: Physiological evaluation of the soccer player

RESUME

This course contains updated scientific knowledge about biological, anthropometric and psychological parameters that allow the evaluation of performance, fatigue and training adaptations of the soccer player.

The course teaches how to conduct and interpret physiological, biomechanical and performance evaluation in soccer, including body composition, biological (blood analysis) and psychological tests, and how to design and manage excel databases for integrating all the biological and psychological data to monitoring soccer players during the season and in all categories from academy to first team.

Course 3: Physical performance and injury-prevention evaluation of the soccer player

RESUME

This course contains updated scientific knowledge about laboratory and on-field methods for performance evaluation in soccer.

The course teaches how to identify and analyze the main evidence-based parameters related to performance or injury prevention in soccer players, and how this information can be integrated and used to design training tasks, sessions and programs.

Course 4: Physical workload control in soccer

RESUME

This course contains updated scientific and practical knowledge about the evidence-based external and internal load parameters most used to control match/ training workload and physical adaptations in soccer, the internal operation of a sport science department, and its coordination with other departments of a soccer team.

The course teaches how to use and analyze data from a GPS system to design training tasks and sessions in soccer to improve performance and reduce injury risk, as well as how to control workload using GPS systems (daily, weekly, monthly and during the season) and generate workload reports and training suggestions.

Course 5: Training to improve the resistance to fatigue in soccer I

RESUME

This course contains updated scientific and practical knowledge about the physiological factors influencing different training systems to improve resistance to fatigue in soccer, and the types of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and sprint interval training (SIT) methods used in soccer.

The course teaches how to design, program and implement these systems in a soccer team, and how to analyze the physical adaptations achieved with them.

RESUME

This course contains updated scientific and practical knowledge about the determinants, variables and types of Small Sided Game training methods, and their related performance adaptations; and about the variables and adaptations proper to complementary training methods such as altitude exposure, heat acclimatization or inspiratory muscle training in soccer.

The course teaches how to analyze and understand the interaction between physiological systems, responses and adaptations, and their influence in the different training types to improve resistance to fatigue in soccer; how to design, program and implement Small Sided Games in the weekly training structure to improve resistance to fatigue in soccer; how to design and implement complementary training methods – altitude exposure, heat acclimatization or inspiratory muscle training – to improve performance in soccer; and finally how to design travel, training and other strategies to improve acclimatization when competing in heat and/or altitude.

Course 7: Training for High-Intensity actions in soccer

RESUME

This course contains updated scientific and practical knowledge about the high-intensity actions in soccer and its relationship with performance, and about the most useful training methods to improve the ability to apply vertical, horizontal and multidirectional force and power.

The course teaches how to measure vertical, horizontal and multidirectional applied force and their important to improve soccer performance; how to analyze upper body force and their importance to improve soccer performance; and how to design and implement training tasks and programs to improve the ability to apply vertical, horizontal and multidirectional force, the upper body strength and the sprint and deceleration performance in soccer players.

Course 8: Strength & Conditioning for Injury Prevention in soccer I

RESUME

This course contains updated scientific and practical knowledge about the most frequent injuries in soccer and related risk factors, and the effects of stretching, amplitude, deceleration and strength training on injury prevention.

The course teaches how to identify the most important injury risk factors in soccer and analyze them in a epidemiology control in soccer, how to understand the importance of stretching, amplitude, deceleration and strength training in injury prevention in soccer, and how to design, perform and implant (in a weekly structure) stretching, amplitude, deceleration and strength training programs to reduce injury risk factors in soccer.

RESUME

This course contains updated scientific and practical knowledge about the types, responses and physical adaptations to strength training under unstable conditions, core training and eccentric training, and particularly on hamstrings and ACL injuries prevention.

The course teaches how to analyze and understand the responses and adaptations of the strength training for injury prevention, and how to design and perform such injury prevention strength training programs.

RESUME

This course contains updated scientific and practical knowledge about the periodization of training in different season periods (pre-season, in-season, off-season, return to play periods) in soccer.

The course teaches how to understand and design strength and conditioning programs in pre-season, in-season, off-season an return to play periods in soccer, how to understand the importance and interaction of strength and conditioning with the tactic model and team structure, how to design and implement strength and conditioning programs in gym and field depending on the period of the season, how to manage the periodization of the load along the season, and finally how to run a complete high-performance program in a soccer team.

This course contains updated scientific and practical knowledge about the post-match and post-training recovery processes.

The course teaches how to structure and coordinate strategies to improve post-match / post-training recovery and the benefits of each one in order to properly apply them, how to manage traveling (domestic, international and intercontinental), sleep, and training camps in soccer teams, and how to implement routines for recovery after matches depending on season period congestion and travels.

Course 13: Nutrition for soccer

RESUME

This course contains updated scientific and practical knowledge about nutritional protocols to improve recovery and performance in the soccer player, and the different nutritional aids, supplements and food strategies for these purposes.

The course teaches how to analyze the hydration status in order to design individualized hydration protocols in different climatic conditions; how to apply nutritional supplementation in soccer; how to design diets in soccer teams depending on the season period and focusing in quantity, quality and also in gastronomy; and how to design and implement natural nutritional habits and supplementation on a soccer team.

Course 14: Strength & conditioning in young soccer players

RESUME

This course contains updated scientific and practical knowledge about the biological and psychological aspects related with youth age that influence the strength and conditioning, technical-tactical progression and talent development in these young soccer players.

The course teaches how to analyze and identify maturation periods to adjust strength and conditioning, technical and tactical demands and decision-making progressions in soccer academies; how to design and apply Individual conditioning training in young soccer players; how to design the progression to develop technical and tactical aspect of young soccer players in professional club academies; and how to implement strength and conditioning training programs in soccer academies.
